Questions & answers
The questions homeowners actually ask.
The questions Triangle homeowners actually ask us, in the order they tend to ask them — from "is this a project for you?" through to "who's licensed, and where do you build?"
Stage
Before you decide
What kind of work do you take on?
We're a family-owned custom home builder and remodeler. Our core work is new custom homes, home additions, and remodeling — kitchens, bathrooms, decks and porches, flooring and whole-home remodels. If it's a new build, an addition or a renovation anywhere in the Triangle, it's likely a project for us.
Who is Jericho Homes?
Jericho Homes is a family-owned, faith-based builder based in Wake Forest, led by Clayton 'Clay' Sturgeon. We're the newest division of High & Tight Concepts, Inc., a Triangle builder at work since 2012 — so while the Jericho name is newer, the experience behind it isn't. We are people building for people.
We've never built or remodeled before — is that a problem?
Not at all. A lot of what our clients thank us for is the guidance at the start and the honesty about cost throughout. We'll come out, look at the project properly, and give you a straight answer on what it actually takes before anything is committed.
Stage
Getting an estimate
How does an estimate work?
We come out, look at the project and talk it through, then put together a written estimate that sets out the work before anything starts. Our clients single out how careful we are about the cost — "they do amazing work and are careful about the cost," as one put it.
What if the scope changes once you've started?
On remodels and additions it sometimes does, especially once older finishes come up and the real condition of the house shows. When something changes, we talk through what it means for the work, the timeline and the cost before we act on it — never after.
Stage
Licensing & trust
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Jericho Homes is a North Carolina licensed, insured residential contractor, License #87838, held through our parent company High & Tight Concepts, Inc. The same named team carries your project from the first consultation to the final walkthrough.
Who will actually be running my project?
Clay Sturgeon runs the projects personally as lead contractor and senior project manager, with a small, named team behind him. It's a family business — "awesome, humble, local folks as owners," as one client wrote — so the person who plans your home is the person accountable for it.

Areas & availability
Which areas do you build in?
We build across the Triangle from our base in Wake Forest — the northern Wake County towns close to home, out through Raleigh, Rolesville, Youngsville, Wendell and Knightdale, and across to Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Durham and Chapel Hill. If you're in the area and not sure, just ask.
Can you take on a whole custom home, not just a remodel?
Yes — custom home construction is a core part of what we do, and it's the newest division of our work. We'll run the whole build with one accountable team, from plans and permits through to the final walkthrough.
Still have a question?
Ask Clay directly — there's no charge for a chat or an estimate.
